Evelyn Laib first learned to play the harpsichord with Alfred Gross in Reutlingen before studying harpsichord and basso continuo in Stuttgart with Jon Laukvik, in Munich with Lars Ulrik Mortensen, in Cologne with Ketil Haugsand and at the Schola Cantorum Basel with Jesper Christensen and Andrea Marcon. She is a prize-winner of international chamber music competitions (York, Den Haag, Neuburg a.d. Donau) and performs with various ensembles dedicated to historically informed performance practice, which leads her to numerous concert series: Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, Ludwigsburg Schlossfestspiele, Handel Festival Göttingen / Halle / Karlsruhe, Residenzkonzerte Munich, Festival de Música Antigua Barcelona, Van Flaanderen Festival Belgium, Heidelberger Frühling, International Festival Bergen, Resonanzen at the Konzerthaus Wien 2018, Schwetzinger Festspiele, etc. She also participates in opera productions, e.g. at the Nationaltheater Mannheim, in Göttingen and Innsbruck. Numerous radio recordings and CD recordings document her work. She is a lecturer at the State Colleges of Music in Frankfurt am Main, Stuttgart and Trossingen.
